About Me and Where to Find
Where to Find
The primary place to find my wares is here, my own website, but I do have wares in a few shops and sell in person sometimes.
I have candlestick holders for sale at The Candlestick Maker in St. Joseph, MI
Past Events:
Flux GR: June 17 2023, Pottery Lane (Grand Rapids, MI)
Plant Pride: July 15 2023, The Botany Shop (South Bend, IN)
Krasl Summer Art Market: August 19 2023, Krasl Art Center (St. Joseph, MI)
Flux GR: Nov 25-26 2022, Pottery Lane (Grand Rapids, MI)
I also formerly had wares (mostly plant pots) available at The Botany Shop, as well as being one of The Pigeon and The Hen's wheel teachers.
About Me
I, Toussaint Pegues, got my start in clay 7 years ago in high school, but ceramics was mostly put on hold while I went to college. I'm a full time engineer, but I put in time at the clay studio at every opportunity. I have the most fun optimizing my abilities to make as many pieces as fast as possible while still giving each unique piece the attention it deserves. I end up making more work than I can even give away, so that's where this shop comes in.
Why Damp Box?
A damp box is an container used to regulate humidity to keep projects in progress moist enough to be workable. In the studio I'm a member of, the best place to take photos is on top of the damp boxes, so the words "Damp Box" appear in many of my photos. I thought it was funny, so I made that my shop name. And later I decided to change that because it wasn't Googleable and using my own name is probably a little better of an idea.
